Why CTCA

A CT Cardiac Angiogram uses computed tomography and contrast dye to create detailed three-dimensional images of the heart and coronary arteries. At Epoch, CTCA provides a fast, accurate and non-invasive alternative to traditional catheter angiography — detecting blockages, narrowing and coronary artery disease without surgical intervention.

Non-Invasive
Heart Assessment

Detailed coronary artery imaging without the need for surgical catheter insertion.

Low-Dose
3D Imaging

High-resolution three-dimensional images captured with minimal radiation exposure throughout the scan.

CTCA Scan Services

CTCA is used to detect coronary artery disease, evaluate chest pain, assess stent patency and review bypass graft function.

What Is a
CTCA?

Identifies blockages, narrowing and plaque buildup in coronary arteries to support early diagnosis and informed treatment decisions for heart disease.

FAQ

A CT Cardiac Angiogram is a non-invasive CT scan that uses X-rays and contrast dye to create detailed 3D images of the heart and coronary arteries, helping detect blockages or narrowing that may lead to heart disease.

Your doctor may recommend a CTCA to investigate chest pain, shortness of breath, or abnormal stress test results, or to check for coronary artery disease, stent patency, or bypass grafts.

A small amount of contrast dye is injected into a vein in your arm while the CT scanner takes rapid, high-resolution images of your heart.

Some patients may be given beta blockers to slow the heart rate for clearer images or nitroglycerin spray to widen the coronary arteries. These are safe and routinely used under supervision.

You may feel a brief warm sensation or metallic taste when the contrast dye is injected, which disappears quickly. The scan itself is painless.
